7/31 - Hold On To Your Butts! with Surfrider Foundation
Learn more about the environmental impact of cigarette butt litter on the beach AND how you can help mitigate the long-term effects.
Surfrider Foundation will be educating the public on how dangerous and prolific the cigarette butt problem is and how Surfrider Galveston has teamed with many community partners and businesses to address and manage the issue.
They will be able to discuss the different aspects of the campaign, how the community can get involved, and will show participants how to make butt cans out of recycled aluminum cans.

About Surfrider Foundation, Galveston Chapter
Surfrider is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches for all people, through a powerful activist network. The Galveston Chapter was established over ten years ago, and we have been active with beach clean-ups, working towards the elimination of single-use plastics through the Bring the Bag campaign, and most recently, educating the public on cigarette butt trash through our Hold On To Your Butts campaign.
