what are Senior FMNP vouchers?

Galveston’s Own Farmers Market now (GOFM) offers Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (Senior FMNP) Vouchers at the weekly farmers market! This federal program empowers underprivileged seniors to easily get fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs that are grown nearby and encourage more people to buy and use local agricultural products by supporting farmers' markets.

Patrons must be 60 years and older and fall under specific Income Guidelines (see below). These vouchers are FREE and do not affect any other benefits; the Senior FMNP are in addition to existing benefits.

Senior FMNP voucher booklets are given out at GOFM. In Galveston County, the only participating Senor FMNP market is Galveston's Own Farmers' Market.

Distribution Starts: April 7, 2024

Distribution Ends: September 29, 2024

Vouchers Expire: October 27, 2024

Forms are also available onsite!

    1. Household number is the total number of people in the home older than 60.

    2. Total gross income is the sum of incomes from all household members that are 60+ (before deductions). This also includes disability/social security. SNAP should not be included.

    3. See your eligibility before July 1, 2024 here> | after July 1, 2024 here>

  • Eligible patrons can bring their ID to the GOFM Info Booth during market hours to apply. Patrons can also complete an application ahead of time and bring it to the GOFM Info Booth. Download the English Version Here | Spanish Version

  • Once approved, patrons will receive $50 worth of vouchers for FREE to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs that are grown nearby.
