Join us in celebrating Jack Johnson’s birthday at GOFM! John Arthur Johnson, nicknamed the "Galveston Giant", was an American boxer who, at the height of the Jim Crow era, became the first African American world heavyweight boxing champion. His memory continues to live on our island. In partnership with the local NAACP chapter of Galveston, patrons can:
partake in a little Jack Johnson Trivia to win fun prizes,
take photos with our Jack Johnson photo op,
and enjoy a treat we'll try to get some cookie giveaways from vendors!
