Get help applying for a free Planned Natural Landscape Exemption permit to create a “pocket prairie” in your yard to add important habitat for butterflies, bees, and birds
Grab some free native plant seeds to support those local pollinators, thanks to the brand new Galveston County Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas!
Discover why our island is a certified Bird City with Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council
& learn about springtime opportunities to get out in nature!

Meet Sasha Francis, President of the Galveston Bay Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas!
Sasha Francis is a Galveston resident who has been involved in conservation education for 16 years, in roles from Wildlife Biologist and Zookeeper to plastic pollution specialist. Currently a Texas Master Naturalist and Environmental Educator, as well as a Gulf coast species aficionado, she loves sharing her knowledge and passion with her community! She thrives when connecting with other people and organizations who support or are interested in learning about green initiatives. There is always more to learn and ways we can GROW as a earth-friendly community! ;)
